David Snyder
Senior Legal Advisor
David V. Snyder is professor of law and director of the Business Law Program at the American University Washington College of Law. His teaching and research interests are primarily in contracts and commercial law, including their US, international, and comparative aspects. He has been a regular visiting professor at the law school of the University of Paris II (Panthéon-Assas) since 2012 and also teaches international business law courses in London. In 2022, David held a Fernand Braudel Senior Fellowship at the European University Institute (Florence) and in 2014 was awarded a McCormick Fellowship at Edinburgh University. He is the author or co-author of numerous scholarly articles, and his books include International Transactions in Goods: Global Sales in Comparative Context (Oxford 2014, with Martin Davies). He is a graduate of Tulane Law School and Yale College and clerked on the US Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
